Strategic Aspiration

A Strategic Aspiration is the guiding intent for a strategy: the role an organization wants to play, set in the context of the environmental and industry dynamics shaping its domain. It sits between mission and concrete plans and gives strategy development a north star before options are generated.

Where it fits — and where to go deeper

A Strategic Aspiration frames strategy work by clarifying the objective, and the reasoning behind it, before choices are made, in light of what is changing in the world, the industry, and the organization. In the BRI Strategy Framework it precedes and informs the Strategy Objective and the strategic options that follow. Growth Forge® Software builds this into the Strategy Aspiration tool, a guided read of environmental dynamics with built-in AI assistance that turns a broad ambition into a focused objective.
