Growth Forge® is like TurboTax* for product and business strategy. It's a cloud-based software as a service that helps new product or business leaders formulate, model, and evaluate strategies to iteratively develop concepts from a hypothesis into a real business. The software builds on many well-established tools, methods, and best practices but makes them interactive, adaptable, and interoperable. It combines aspects of financial, analytics, project management, and collaboration software, all integrated and optimized for managing new business growth and innovation at the project, group, or company-wide portfolio level.
Before founding BRI, we spent several decades developing new businesses and leading the new business incubator at Intel. We learned the hard way what works, what doesn't, and most importantly, why the things that don't work are likely to fail and how to identify & mitigate those risks. We have many years of experience as intrapreneurs and as leaders of new business growth portfolios. We tried many software tools and services along the way, but they either focused too heavily on ideation and idea management or were overly generalized tools for collaboration or process management. We developed Growth Forge to address the gaps we saw in the market.
At the heart of the Growth Forge software is a suite of tools that help iteratively build a digital model of your product or business strategy hypothesis. Each tool focuses on specific dimensions of your strategy, capturing your strategic choices and allowing you to quantify both the business' potential value and key risks. This model can then be iteratively refined with higher fidelity and greater supporting evidence in the key assumptions to improve your confidence in the model's accuracy. These results can then be evaluated against your organization's investment decision criteria to make higher-quality innovation funding or resource allocation decisions.
The software is built from decades of experience and best practices for new business growth and innovation. The software guides users through a consistent methodology for innovation.
For managers of innovation groups, configuring your own methodology with software-based tools and facilitated processes can help institutionalize the practice and enable greater consistency across projects for comparative evaluation.
