Using the Strategy Builder Tool, you will draw out the factors that distinguish a strategy from a plan. A ‘plan’ is “a temporal set of intended actions through which one expects to achieve a goal” (source: Wikipedia). A strategy is a set of options or choices to achieve the aspiration under different conditions or beliefs about the current context and the future.
The art of generating strategic options is acknowledging each proposal and asking, “What would we have to believe to be true?” for the option to achieve the aspiration.
The science of generating strategic options is creating plausible, logically sound, and ideally testable hypotheses for achieving the aspiration.
